This new decal
sheet from Impact
Decals includes
markings for 5 different 1/48 piston engined aircraft that served with
VMF-225/VMA-225.
The aircraft
include 3 Corsairs and 2 Skyraiders including the following:

F4U-1
Corsair BuNo. 02435 with VMF-225 based at Veila Lavella, Solomon Islands in
1943. This aircraft is after the National Insignia was changed.
Paint scheme is two shades of light blue on top and white on the underside.

F4U-4
Corsair BuNo. 96802 with VMF-225 onboard USS Siboney in 1947. P Paint
scheme is overall dark blue. Prop spinner is red and white spiral
which will need to be masked and painted.

F4U-4
Corsair BuNo. 96802 with VMA-225 at NAAS Edenton, NC in 1952. Paint
scheme is overall dark blue with green and white tip at tip of tail which is
provided as decals.

AD-4B
Skyraider with VMA-225 NAAS Edenton, NC in 1955. Paint scheme is
overall dark blue with white tip at tip of tail and white wing tips....all
with green stars. Green stars are provided as decals.

AD-6
Skyraider BuNo. 134608 with VMA-225 NAAS Edenton, NC in 1957. Paint
scheme is overall light gray with white rudder and a black anti-glare
panel. The tip of tail and white wing tips....all with have green
stars. Green stars are provided as decals.

The instructions are clear and
include 3 views of each aircraft. The decals are beautifully printed on 2 decal
sheets.
Impact
Decals has covered some very good paint schemes
used by
VMF-225/VMA-225 and I must say I do like the light blue Corsair.....that
paint scheme would provide some excellent weathering opportunities. It is
also good to see 2 Skyraiders also provided on this decal sheet with the 3
Corsairs.
